I was clicking through movie channels the other day and came across this movie. It stars Eddie Murphy. I was absolutely in awe of this movie. Its about a man who is totally self absorbed. Job driven. and seems to have lost what life really is about. Seemingly stemming from feelings of abandonment by his father. A tree pops up in his yard. and he comes to realize he and the tree are connected. And that for every word he speaks, a leaf falls. Eventually He had to realize that words were not trivial. it forced him to confront his feelings about his dad. and realize that words do matter.
after watching the movie, we had a particular windy day. and leaves were at times. literally swirling about as they fell. It made me think of that movie. what conversations were going on. what words were used. did the words mean anything. did the words hurt someone, or make them happy. did the words… matter. It made me take a look at how i communicate. Especially online since we are limited to words. and giving words life, a feel of passion and intensity. I can only hope im doing my words justice.
